Cape Town – South African rapper Cassper Nyovest has responded defiantly to a wave of criticism that erupted after an old 2014 post resurfaced in which he referred to Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs as inspiration.
The backlash followed renewed public outrage over the numerous allegations and criminal convictions against Diddy.
On the social-media post in question, Cassper had written, “Young Diddy. #GoldenBoy.” Once the post was re-shared online, many questioned the rapper’s judgment given Diddy’s now-public scandals. In response, Cassper fired back:
“Bathi I should delete this tweet!!! Hahaha, y’all are crazy thinking y’all can bully everyone or threaten them.”
He further defended his past views, “11 years ago, none of us, including you idiots, knew what Diddy was doing. So cancel me, do whatever!!! Nnna ha ke sbaye sa lona julle vuil pops!!! Almal van julle!!!”

Cassper emphasised that he would not delete the post, signalling his refusal to be publicly shamed or bullied into erasing a part of his past.
Diddy — once celebrated globally — now carries a legacy shadowed by legal findings, including criminal convictions in 2025 for crimes related to prostitution and numerous civil lawsuits alleging sexual misconduct and exploitation.
