Stockholm – A double decker bus drove off a road and tipped over in southern Sweden on Monday, killing an 18-year-old and injuring dozens, officials said.
Images from the accident, which occurred between the towns of Vaxjo and Alvesta, showed the bus lying on its side. Several ambulances and fire trucks were lined up nearby.
Police said in a statement that a man aged 18 had died.

A school bus headed to Winter Haven High School overturned in a crash on Lucerne Park Road in Winter Haven this morning, around 6:15 a.m.
Two people were killed.
Sheriff Grady Judd said a westbound white Chevy Malibu crossed the center line and hit the rear wheels of the eastbound bus. The impact ripped off a tire. The bus crossed into the oncoming lane and hit a silver Jeep head-on. The Jeep caught fire. A fourth vehicle was also involved.
On the bus: 37 students, the driver, and the driver’s 9-year-old daughter. A 10th-grade girl on the bus was killed. The driver of the Jeep was also killed. One person was in critical condition, and several others were taken to hospitals as trauma alerts.
Judd said the first hours were spent getting people to hospitals and reuniting them with parents.
“It was a horrible crash,” he said. “We had a beautiful 10th grade girl lose her life.”Names had not been released when he spoke. This is still developing. Prayers for the families💔🥲🙏

“In total, more than 40 people have been affected by the bus accident, of whom around 10 are currently seriously injured,” local health authority Region Kronoberg said in a separate statement earlier.
According to police the accident occurred just after 4:30 pm (1430 GMT).
