Johannesburg – Selected FNB and RMB Private Bank customers can now earn eBucks when shopping at Woolworths, following an expansion of the bank’s rewards programme that took effect on 1 October 2026.
According to BusinessTech, the benefit is available to qualifying private banking clients who use an eligible FNB or RMB Private Bank Virtual Card for their Woolworths purchases.
The new benefit covers eligible spending at Woolworths stores, Woolworths Food, Woolworths Online and Woolworths Dash, with qualifying purchases combined over the month. Depending on the customer’s banking proposition and eligibility, clients can earn up to eB10 000, equivalent to R1,000, in eBucks each month.
MyBroadband reported that FNB said the move responds to the spending habits of its private clients, with the bank noting that “a significant part of our clients already spend at Woolworths.”
The bank said Woolworths would extend eBucks earning into “food, fashion, beauty and home purchases.”
Sizwe Nxedlana, CEO of FNB Private Banking and Wealth Management, said the initiative was designed to provide value beyond traditional banking services.
“Private is about more than banking,” Nxedlana said, as reported by Novus Press Bulletin. “It is about bringing personalised advice, integrated financial solutions and relevant lifestyle benefits together around each client.”
Bathandwa Mbovane, Head of Reward at eBucks, said the programme was being adapted as customers’ spending patterns changed.
“Client needs and spending behaviour continue to evolve, and rewards need to evolve with them,” he said.
The Woolworths addition follows changes to FNB’s rewards partnerships. MyBroadband reported that FNB Private and RMB Private Wealth customers could previously earn eBucks at Spar, but that benefit ended on 31 August 2026.
FNB’s latest move therefore gives qualifying private banking customers another way to earn rewards on regular household and lifestyle spending.
