Cape Town – Rachel Kolisi has gone viral on social media after confidently singing and dancing along to Ne-Yo’s hit song “Miss Independent” at an event where she was the keynote speaker.
The video, shared by the author, director and motivational speaker, has amassed nearly six million views, with 2.9 million views on TikTok and 3.1 million on Instagram.
Social media users praised Rachel’s confidence, with one user writing: “She’s healing bafazi… we all love it for her right.” Another commented: “That glow… is not from a skin routine… it’s straight from your soul.”

Others focused on her decision to continue using the Kolisi surname following her divorce from former Springboks captain Siya Kolisi.
Rachel previously explained that she kept the surname because of their two children, Nicholas and Keziah.
“My children share the same surname as me, and travelling with my children, because they are brown, is already a big challenge,” she said in an interview with 947FM.
She added: “Sometimes I get stopped at gates and people want to double-check certain things, so it would be a really big challenge for me, so I’m keeping my surname.”
Rachel and Siya co-founded the Kolisi Foundation in 2020 before Rachel later stepped down and launched the Falling Forward Foundation, a movement focused on women, courage, resilience and growth.
