Bloemfontein – Parkweg police are searching for six suspects who allegedly kidnapped and robbed a 23-year-old man after he boarded a white Toyota Quantum in Brandwag.
The incident happened in McHardy Avenue, where the victim was waiting for public transport and told the occupants of the minibus that he was travelling to St Andrews Street, according to the South African Police Service (SAPS).
“The complainant boarded the bus, and it travelled until 2nd Avenue, where two of the males took out knives and robbed him,” SAPS said.
The suspects allegedly took the victim’s Samsung A06 cellphone, sneakers, Nike soccer boots and a black bag before dropping him off in Albrecht Street, Dan Pienaar.
SAPS said the suspects are believed to be travelling in a white Toyota Quantum.
Police described the group as comprising five coloured males and one woman.
“A case docket of kidnapping and robbery was opened at Parkweg Police Station,” SAPS said.
Police are appealing to anyone who can help identify or locate the suspects or the vehicle to come forward.
