Durban – Two women were robbed at gunpoint while walking along Moss Street in the Verulam CBD, KwaZulu-Natal, on Saturday evening.
According to Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA), the women, aged 35 and 40, arrived at its headquarters at about 19:42 seeking assistance after the robbery.
“The victims, aged 35 and 40, arrived at Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) Headquarters at approximately 19:42 requesting assistance,” RUSA said in a statement.
The women told officers they were walking along Moss Street when they were confronted by two suspects.
“One (1) suspect produced a handgun and held them at gunpoint,” the statement said.
The suspects allegedly stole a pink handbag containing an unconfirmed amount of cash and a black Samsung cellphone before fleeing the scene.
“The suspects fled in an unknown direction,” RUSA said.
Reaction officers searched the surrounding area but were unable to locate the suspects.
The circumstances surrounding the robbery and the identities of the suspects were not immediately known.
