Johannesburg – African champions Mamelodi Sundowns snatched a late 2-1 win at Golden Arrows on Sunday to take a three-point early season lead in the South African Premiership.
South Africa midfielder Teboho Mokoena struck the winner on 88 minutes with a looping shot from outside the box in murky Durban.
Siyanda Ndlovu scored with a low shot from a tight angle against former club Arrows to put two-time CAF Champions League winners Sundowns ahead on 14 minutes.
Arrows levelled after 76 minutes through a close-range shot from Junior Dion. The Ivorian was the leading Premiership scorer last season with 14 goals.

Sundowns have 16 points from six matches as they pursue a ninth South African league title in 10 seasons. Reigning champions Orlando Pirates have 13 points and Kaizer Chiefs 11 from five games each.
A brilliant goal from Wandile Duba highlighted a 3-2 victory for Chiefs over lowly Siwelele in chilly Soweto.
He back-heeled a cross past goalkeeper Samukelo Xulu to give Chiefs a two-goal advantage midway through the second half.
Xulu later conceded an own goal as a swerving Faiz Abrahams free-kick rebounded off the far post and struck the goalkeeper on the head before slipping into the net.
