Kuruman – Ten suspects have been arrested in connection with the murder of 19-year-old Kago Moshole, whose body was found next to the N14 near Ganhaai Village in the Northern Cape earlier this week.
The South African Police Service (SAPS) said Mothibistad detectives arrested nine men and one woman following an intensive investigation into Moshole’s death.
The suspects include a 35-year-old woman and nine men aged between 30 and 40. Nine of the suspects are from Kagung, while one is from Ganhaai.
Police also confiscated a Toyota GD-6 bakkie allegedly used in the commission of the crime.
The arrests were made with assistance from members of the Kuruman K9 Unit, who supported detectives during the investigation and subsequent operation.
According to SAPS, the suspects are also being detained in connection with kidnapping and attempted murder.

Police said another person was allegedly assaulted during the incident and is currently receiving medical treatment.
More arrests possible
The investigation remains ongoing, with police saying further arrests cannot be ruled out as detectives work to establish the circumstances surrounding the murder, kidnapping and attempted murder.
“The investigation is continuing, and police cannot rule out further arrests as they work to establish the full circumstances surrounding the murder, kidnapping and attempted murder,” SAPS said.
Acting District Commissioner Brigadier Kenneth Baloyi welcomed the arrests and credited information from members of the community for helping investigators make progress.
Baloyi “applauded the community for providing valuable information that assisted police in the investigation and subsequent arrests”.
He also praised the various police units involved in the operation, saying their coordinated efforts contributed to the swift progress of the investigation.
Police urged anyone with information that could assist the investigation to contact the investigating officer, Sergeant Phenyo Chwene, on 082 416 1095.
The ten suspects remain in police custody and are expected to face charges linked to the murder and other alleged offences.
