Durban – A prominent KwaZulu-Natal businessman has reportedly been arrested on charges of human trafficking and kidnapping following a Hawks operation at his Umhlanga home on Tuesday.
According to eNCA, the businessman’s name has previously surfaced during proceedings at the Madlanga Commission, which is investigating allegations of corruption within the South African Police Service and the criminal justice system.
His name has also come up before Parliament’s SAPS Ad Hoc Committee.
He is expected to appear in court on Wednesday morning.
The Citizen reported that KwaZulu-Natal Hawks executed a J50 warrant of arrest at the businessman’s residence on 11 August 2026.
