Cape Town – South African media personality Nonhle Thema has paid an emotional tribute to her late mother, legendary actress and South Africa’s first Black beauty queen, Cynthia Shange, on what would have been her 77th birthday.
Shange passed away in KwaZulu-Natal on 20 April at the age of 76 due to complications related to diabetes. She was laid to rest during a private funeral service in Inanda on 26 April.
Marking the occasion on Instagram on Monday, Thema reflected on her mother’s legacy and the impact she continues to have on those who knew and admired her.
