Cape Town – Thandeka Mhlanga, popularly known as Shanice, has publicly apologised to South African actor Sipho Ndlovu after admitting that she falsely accused him of domestic violence in 2024.
In a video statement, Mhlanga confirmed that she had withdrawn the gender-based violence (GBV) case against Ndlovu and acknowledged that the allegations she made were untrue.
“I’ve damaged his reputation. I’ve chosen to withdraw the case because I’ve caused irreparable damage to his name and his image.”
She said she had acted “in the heat of the moment” following the end of their relationship and expressed regret for opening the case.
“I would like to apologise for opening a case against him. It was the heat of the moment.
“I was upset with the way the relationship had ended, and I sincerely apologise to all his fans and supporters for falsely accusing him. I hope that we can find a way to put the past behind us and move forward.”
Mhlanga also admitted that she should not have gone to Ndlovu’s home after their relationship had ended.

“I knew on the day that I had gone to his house I should not have gone because the relationship had already ended.”
She extended her apology to Ndlovu’s friends and those whose professional relationships with the actor may have been affected by the allegations.
“I’d also like to apologise to his friends and all the people who have lost out in working with him.”
The apology brings to a close a legal dispute that has remained in the public spotlight since 2024.
At the time, Mhlanga accused the former The Wife actor of physically assaulting her after she visited his home following their break-up.
Ndlovu denied the allegations from the outset, maintaining that Mhlanga had entered his property by climbing over a wall and alleging that she assaulted him after finding him with another woman. He subsequently opened countercharges at the Douglasdale Police Station, which resulted in Mhlanga being taken into custody while both parties pursued legal action.
The case sparked widespread debate on social media and within the entertainment industry. While many initially rallied behind Mhlanga, Ndlovu consistently maintained that he would clear his name through the legal process.
With Mhlanga withdrawing the case and admitting that the allegations were false, the matter appears to have reached its conclusion. The case has also renewed public debate about the impact of false gender-based violence allegations.
