Cape Town – Lifestyle creator Nara Smith has shared that her two-year-old daughter, Whimsy Lou, is officially in remission after completing months of cancer treatment.
Earlier this year, Smith revealed that her daughter had been diagnosed with cancer, a disclosure that shocked followers around the world. The influencer has now announced that Whimsy Lou has finished chemotherapy and is beginning a new chapter in her recovery.
In an emotional video, Smith said she and her husband, model Lucky Blue Smith, had kept their daughter’s diagnosis private while she underwent treatment over the past eight months.
“Thank you for the support, it truly has meant so, so much to us. Lucky and I have been going through this and processing it for the last eight months, and we were debating on even sharing such a private part of our life.

“Wanted to wait until she was done with treatment and us knowing what the outcome of her situation would be before sharing it and even finding the words to share it. Now that she’s finally in remission, it felt like I could find the words to share.”
Smith said her decision to speak publicly about the family’s experience was intended to highlight the challenges many families face while caring for a child with cancer.
“The whole point of me sharing our experience was to shed light on what so many families go through and battle privately. Going through chemo treatments opened my eyes to how expensive medical care is and what toll it takes on families specifically.”
She added that she had been researching charities and foundations to support and planned to share resources that could help families facing similar circumstances.
Smith said she and her husband were gradually returning to everyday life, while acknowledging that adjusting after their daughter’s treatment would take time.
“Lucky and I have been trying to return to everyday life and taking it day by day. I don’t know whether life will ever feel normal again, but we’re trying to navigate this next chapter the best that we can.
“But with all of that being said, thank you so much to every single person for your kindness. I’m sending all my love to families that are actively still going through this fight.”
