Bethlehem – Police have launched an investigation after the decomposed body of an unidentified man was discovered on a farm near Bethlehem in the Free State.
According to the South African Police Service (SAPS), a farm worker at Tweelingskop Farm along the R26 road made the grim discovery on Thursday, 16 July, and immediately alerted his employer.
“Upon inspection, they found the body of an African male wearing a lime-coloured T-shirt, grey trousers, and pink soccer boots,” the polie said.
Police said the Bohlokong Police Station has opened an inquest docket, while a post-mortem examination will be conducted to determine the cause of death.
Authorities have appealed to members of the public to help identify the deceased.
Anyone with a missing family member, relative or friend matching the description, or who may have information that could assist police, is urged to contact the Bohlokong Detective Service’s Warrant Officer Hescock on 082 453 0794 or call Crime Stop on 08600 10111.
Investigations are ongoing.
