Cape Town – President Cyril Ramaphosa is closely monitoring developments at the Investigating Directorate Against Corruption (IDAC), where its head, Advocate Andrea Johnson, is facing increasing scrutiny while being hospitalised.
Speaking during a media briefing at the Union Buildings on Wednesday, presidential spokesperson Vincent Magwenya said the recent developments were a matter of concern for the President.

“Indeed, the developments that are transpiring are a concern to the President. The President is keeping a close eye on those developments,” Magwenya said.
He noted that there had been considerable speculation regarding Johnson’s future, including reports suggesting she could resign, but stressed that no decisions had been taken.
“At this stage, you’re seeing a lot of speculation around aspects such as a potential resignation. Our view is that we will continue to monitor the developments, and should the President determine that some form of due process needs to be activated in response to the issues that have transpired, we will communicate that at the appropriate time,” he said.
