Cape Town – The March and March movement staged protests in Alexandra, Johannesburg, and Mtwalume in KwaZulu-Natal on Thursday as part of its campaign against illegal immigration, vowing to demonstrate every Thursday until government addresses its demands.
According to IOL, KwaZulu-Natal police spokesperson Colonel Robert Netshiunda said authorities should address the issues driving public frustration rather than allowing weekly protests to continue.
“We can’t be having people marching every day,” Netshiunda said, calling for a coordinated response involving police, Home Affairs and metro authorities to tackle the situation.
