Police allege that when the 40-year-old woman arrived at the house, she found her husband with the other woman in their bedroom. She allegedly armed herself with a knife and stabbed both of them.
The injured woman reportedly managed to flee the house but collapsed outside the property, where she later died from her injuries.
The 40-year-old suspect was arrested and is expected to appear in the Mmabatho Magistrates’ Court on Friday, 10 July, on charges of murder and attempted murder.
The acting district commissioner of the Ngaka Modiri Molema District, Brigadier (Adv) Bigboy Dube, condemned the incident.
Dube commended police officers for their swift response and the prompt arrest of the suspect, while urging members of the public to resolve disputes through peaceful and lawful means rather than resorting to violence.
Police investigations are continuing.
