Cape Town – The South African Weather Service (Saws) has issued a Yellow Level 4 warning as a strong cold front is expected to bring disruptive rain, damaging winds, and rough seas to the Western Cape from Sunday into Monday.
Disaster Risk Management officials say the system will result in widespread showers, with rainfall expected to intensify over the Cape Winelands and the City of Cape Town, where accumulations could reach up to 60mm.

Damaging winds are also expected to affect parts of the province and the Northern Cape, while coastal waters between Cape Columbine and Cape Agulhas may experience dangerous waves, creating navigation risks.
Authorities have urged residents to take precautionary measures such as clearing gutters, securing loose items, and improving drainage to reduce flood risks, especially in informal settlements.
Emergency services and partner agencies have been placed on standby to respond to any weather-related incidents.
