Cape Town – The Democratic Alliance (DA) has reshuffled its representation in the Government of National Unity (GNU), with party leader Geordin Hill-Lewis saying the changes are aimed at improving performance and delivering on the party’s mandate.

Other changes include David Maynier being appointed Minister of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment. Alexandra Abrahams moves to Deputy Minister of Electricity and Energy, where she is expected to contribute to reform and energy sector improvements.
Yusuf Cassim will become Deputy Minister of Higher Education and Training, while Jack Bloom is appointed Deputy Minister of Water and Sanitation.
Hill-Lewis said the reshuffle reflects the DA’s commitment to accountability and performance, stating: “We believe in accountability in public office, high standards of performance, and responsiveness to the needs of South Africans.”
He added that the changes are intended to strengthen the party’s role in government and advance its vision of an “open, opportunity society” aimed at economic growth and job creation.
