Johannesburg – The Johannesburg High Court sitting in Palm Ridge has heard testimony that murder accused Tiffany Meek allegedly blamed her son’s scholar transport driver for the disappearance of her 11-year-old son, Jayden-Lee Meek, before his body was found in May last year.
Sergeant Rito Ngobeni, the second state witness and a member of the police search team, told the court that she overheard Meek telling others that she suspected the driver, identified as Mr Khumalo, was involved in the boy’s disappearance.
According to Ngobeni, Meek said she suspected the driver because a security guard had informed her that Jayden-Lee had not been dropped off after school.
Meek, 32, is currently on trial for the murder of her son.
The murder trial of Tiffany Meek continued this week, with a police officer testifying that he believed Meek was trying to divert investigators away from her residential complex after her 11-year-old son, Jayden-Lee, was reported missing.

She has pleaded not guilty to charges of murder, crimen injuria and defeating the ends of justice.
The body of her 11-year-old son was discovered at their Fleurhof residential complex in May 2025, clad only in his underwear. The State alleges that Meek fatally assaulted the child with a blunt object before attempting to conceal the crime by staging the scene.
She has denied the allegations, maintaining that prosecutors have no direct evidence linking her to the boy’s death.
