Cape Town – South Africans will soon have a direct travel link to Brazil, with LATAM Airlines launching a non-stop Cape Town–São Paulo route from 2 July 2026, according to Time Out Cape Town.
The service, which will operate three times a week, will remove the need for travellers to connect through Johannesburg, Europe or the Middle East, significantly reducing travel time between South Africa and South America, The South African reported.
São Paulo, LATAM’s main hub, will also serve as a gateway to wider destinations across South and Central America, while offering its own attractions such as food markets, beaches and cultural experiences.
Beyond São Paulo, Brazil remains a major tourist draw with highlights including the Amazon rainforest, Rio de Janeiro’s Copacabana Beach, Sugarloaf Mountain and the Christ the Redeemer statue.
The new route is part of a broader expansion of international connectivity at Cape Town International Airport, which is also set to see increased services from Emirates and Qatar Airways in 2026.
