Cape Town – President Cyril Ramaphosa is set to return to Parliament on Tuesday to table the Presidency Budget Vote, outlining the funding priorities of his office and the key programmes supporting the presidency, deputy president and Cabinet.
“The Presidency’s focus is on growing the economy, reducing poverty and building a capable, ethical and developmental state as part of implementing the priorities of the Government of National Unity,” a statement said.

The budget debate comes amid growing political pressure on Ramaphosa, particularly following the launch of the Section 89 impeachment inquiry linked to the Phala Phala scandal.
The inquiry has already begun its work, with Makashule Gana recently elected as chairperson of the committee.
Although Ramaphosa will not face questions from MPs during the budget vote, political parties are expected to use the debate to scrutinise both the Presidency’s spending plans and the performance of his administration, EWN reported.
The debate is also likely to focus heavily on the impeachment inquiry, which has become one of the biggest political challenges facing Ramaphosa.
Parties aligned with the Progressive Caucus, including the uMkhonto weSizwe Party (MK Party) and the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF), previously walked out during Ramaphosa’s parliamentary appearance in May, but have not indicated whether they will boycott the budget vote.
Ramaphosa is expected to respond to the debate in the National Assembly on Wednesday.
