Eastern Cape – Police in the Eastern Cape have released a facial composite of a person of interest linked to a house robbery at Woodbury Lodge Game Reserve near Seven Fountains.
According to the South African Police Service, detectives are appealing to members of the public for assistance in tracing the man following the robbery, which took place on 24 September 2025.
It is alleged that at about 7:50pm, a woman had just come out of the shower when she heard her dog barking inside the house. She reportedly put on her gown and opened the front door to let the dog outside when she was confronted by six unknown men.
Police said five of the suspects were wearing balaclavas, while one suspect’s face was uncovered.
The suspects allegedly forced the complainant into her bedroom, tied her hands behind her back to a chair and demanded to know where safes were kept in the house.
“The complainant told them there were no safes in the house,” police said.
The suspects allegedly stole four laptops, two cellphones and jewellery before fleeing the scene on foot. The victim later managed to free herself and sought help from neighbours.
Police have since compiled a facial composition of the suspect whose face was uncovered and are urging anyone with information to come forward.
Anyone who can assist in tracing the person of interest has been asked to contact investigating officer Sergeant Molefe on 061 144 3683, Crime Stop on 08600 10111, or use the MySAPSApp. Police said all information received will be treated confidentially and callers may remain anonymous.
