Durban – Jacob Zuma’s uMkhonto weSizwe Party has suspended former spokesperson and MP Nhlamulo Ndhlela with immediate effect pending an investigation into allegations of misconduct, sowing division within the party, and bringing the organisation into disrepute.
The suspension was confirmed by MK Party national chairperson Nkosinathi Nhleko a day after Ndhlela was removed as spokesperson and replaced by former Star editor Sifiso Mahlangu.
“This letter serves to formally inform you that President Jacob Zuma has today taken the decision to suspend your membership of the party with immediate effect, pending the outcome of an investigation,” the party said in a letter addressed to Ndhlela.

The move follows controversy over a statement read by Ndhlela suggesting that the newly launched MK Institute would take control of the party’s leadership and administration structures.
The institute, led by deputy president Mandlakayise Hlophe and other senior members, was introduced as a body focused on governance, leadership and ideological education within the party
