Johannesburg – Political fixer Brown Mogotsi will remain in custody for at least another week after the Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court postponed his bail hearing in connection with an alleged staged assassination attempt.
Mogotsi faces five charges, including perjury and defeating the ends of justice, after prosecutors alleged he orchestrated a fake shooting incident in November last year.
Brown Mogotsi refused to comment, appearing rattled but remaining in good spirits.
He briefly stated that he would speak out at the “right time.”

At the time, he claimed gunmen fired multiple shots at his vehicle in an apparent attempt on his life.
However, investigators now suspect the attack was staged, leading to his arrest.
Bail proceedings were delayed after the state said the address provided by Mogotsi was incomplete and still needed verification outside the province.
