Pretoria – The corruption case involving controversial businessman Vusimuzi “Cat” Matlala, suspended National Police Commissioner General Fannie Masemola, and 12 other police officials over the R360 million SAPS Medicare24 tender has been postponed to 26 June 2026.
The accused appeared together at the Pretoria Magistrate’s Court, where Masemola faces charges under the Public Finance Management Act, while Matlala and his co-accused officers face charges including fraud, money laundering, and breaches of financial legislation.

The court postponed the matter for further investigation, verification, and full disclosure of the docket.
The prosecutor also instructed all accused to bring USB devices to court to access case materials.
Matlala will remain in custody but has been transferred to Kgosi Mampuru Correctional Facility for easier access to court, after previously being held at the high-security eBongweni Correctional Centre in Kokstad.

The court said the move was in the interests of both the state and defence.
The remaining 12 police officials are out on bail, which previously ranged between R40,000 and R80,000, while Matlala remains detained.
The case is expected to return to court for further proceedings in June.
