Cape Town – Media personality Thando Thabethe has revealed that she was hospitalised following a skydiving incident during a jump in Cape Town.
Thabethe shared details of the frightening experience in a video posted on Instagram, where she reflected on the unexpected landing and the aftermath that followed.
The video was accompanied by a light-hearted caption despite the ordeal.
“Didn’t know whether to laugh or cry 😭😭😭…so created a movie instead. Would I do it again? Absolutely yes!!!. A reminder to do it scared, but do it anyway!!!.”
In the clip, Thabethe explained that she landed on her buttocks, something she said had never happened during her previous skydives.
“The times I have done it, this is not how I’ve landed on the ground,” she said.

She admitted that the impact initially left her fearing she would not be able to stand.
“I didn’t think I would be able to stand up, but I eventually did and ended up in the hospital.”
According to Thabethe, the jump marked her third skydiving experience and her first in the Cape Town region, describing it as one of the adventures on her bucket list.
“I was so excited. I have done two of these in other regions, but this will be my very first one in the Cape Town region,” she said.
She also revealed that the jump took place from 14,000 feet, making it the highest skydive she had attempted in years.
“Meaning your free fall is longer than usual until the parachute opens,” she added.
Despite the painful experience, Thabethe maintained that she would still take to the skies again, embracing the moment as a reminder to face fear head-on.
