Cape Town – What started as an on-screen romance on House of Zwide has officially become reality, with actors Shalate Sekhabi and Wanda Zuma tying the knot in real life.
The couple, who won over viewers with their portrayal of Nkosi and Shoki, celebrated their lobola and umembeso ceremonies on 1 and 2 May 2026, marking a new chapter in a relationship that had largely been kept away from the public eye.

Fans were first caught by surprise in October 2025 when the pair announced their engagement on instagram, turning what many believed was simply on-screen chemistry into a real-life love story.

Following the celebrations, Wanda Zuma took to Instagram to share images from the ceremony, captioning the post:
“Lobola & Umembeso Celebration of Kgabang Sekhabi and Wanda Zuma.”
He also paid tribute to his wife in a heartfelt message written in isiZulu, praising her beauty, grace and strength writing:
“Imbali ekhiwe emini ka bha,
Imbali eqhakaza yodwa ensimini,
Imbali ekhiwa ngesizotha nesineke,
Kuyofika izikhukhula nemimoya, kodwa yona iyohlezi ikhanya.”
He further reflected on the depth of their relationship, describing their marriage as “the beginning of forever” and expressing his belief that he would choose her again even in another lifetime. Zuma added:
“The beginning of forever,
Kuhlangana imphefumulo embili iba yinye,
Imndeni ebingazani ihlanganiswe intenhle yezingane.
Oh what a life,
Nakwimpilo elandelayo ngiyophinda ngikhethe wena.”
He concluded by thanking loved ones and everyone who contributed to the occasion:
“Thank you to our friends and family who joined us on this memorable occasion, inkosi inbusise njalo njalo. To every single person who made the occasion possible, siyabonga, enikwenzele thina nikwenze nakwabanye.”
The wedding has since sparked excitement online, with many fans celebrating the couple’s journey from television sweethearts to husband and wife in real life.
