Tongaat, KwaZulu-Natal – Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) is appealing to the public for assistance in identifying an unidentified woman found in a river in Tongaat on Wednesday morning.
Reaction Officers responded to a report on Frostley Farm at 11:41, after a caller travelling on a gravel road spotted a woman lying face down in the river.
According to RUSA, the woman suddenly stood upright in the water and became hysterical before officers could reach her.
A female Reaction Officer attempted to speak with the woman, but she remained uncooperative.
“We were unable to gather any information from her, as she remained silent throughout the interview,” RUSA stated.
Authorities have released images of the woman and are urging anyone with information about her identity to contact RUSA immediately.
