Johannesburg – The TopGear South Africa Magazine Awards are returning this year, promising an evening celebrating the cars, brands, and individuals shaping the South African motoring industry.
The event, powered by WesBank, is scheduled to take place on 11 February 2026 in Johannesburg.
Now in its third edition, the awards have become a key fixture on the local motoring calendar, recognising excellence across the wider motoring sector.
“These awards exist to recognise and celebrate the extraordinary,” said Avon Middleton, Publisher of TopGear South Africa.
“They continue to evolve every year, because the industry evolves every year, but the essence of a premium but genuinely fun evening remains.”
The ceremony will feature a mix of conventional and unconventional categories, from Performance Car of the Year, 4×4 and EV of the Year, to reimagined awards designed to highlight unique contributions to the industry.
“The awards only recognise those that are exceedingly good and therefore, no two awards events are exactly the same,” Middleton added.

WesBank, South Africa’s leading asset-based finance provider, continues its headline partnership. “The partnership with TopGear South Africa Magazine Awards is a natural extension of our commitment to the automotive ecosystem,” said Lebo Gaoaketse, Marketing Director at WesBank.
“We’re proud to celebrate the innovation and excellence defining the South African automotive industry, and these awards highlight the benchmarks of quality and progress that move our country forward.”
