Limpopo – Dennis Hlako-Mabetwa, the suspect wanted in connection with the brutal attack of a woman and the murder of his partner, has been found dead, police confirmed on Friday.
Hlako-Mabetwa, believed to have been on the run since Monday, 26 January, was wanted after allegedly attacking a woman with a sharp object in Mookgophong and later strangling his partner to death in Seshego.
The South African Police Service (SAPS) reported that Hlako-Mabetwa was discovered hanging inside his home in Mookgophong on Friday afternoon. Authorities believe he committed suicide.

“Dennis Hlako-Mabetwa, who was on the run after allegedly attacking a woman with a sharp object in Mookgophong and later strangling his partner to death in Seshego on Monday, 26/01, is believed to have committed suicide after he was found hanging inside his home in Mookgophong on Friday afternoon, 30/01.”
Police are continuing their investigation into the incidents and have urged members of the public to report any information that may assist in understanding the circumstances surrounding both the attacks and the suspect’s death.
