Cape Town – Rachel Kolisi has shared a message of self-reflection and peace as her estranged husband, Springboks captain Siya Kolisi, has openly appeared with a new partner amid their high-profile separation.
Rachel posted a video on TikTok on 14 January in which she read from Rising Strong by Brené Brown, expressing a renewed focus on her own well-being.
“I choose peace, I choose love, I choose happiness. Today, I choose me,” she said, using audio paired with the clip on TikTok. She captioned the post, “And goodness was it a journey to get here ❤️.”
In the same update, Rachel shared reflections from a recent 10-day trip to Angola, writing that the experience gave her “a depth of perspective I wasn’t prepared for.”

The post comes shortly after national attention turned to Siya Kolisi’s personal life following the couple’s split, announced publicly in October 2024 after eight years of marriage.
In their joint statement at the time, they explained that they had “mutually decided to end our marriage” and emphasised remaining “great friends and committed partners in raising our children.”
Siya has since been seen with 25-year-old influencer Rachel John, confirming his new relationship during a recent Zimbabwe getaway, which has stimulated renewed public interest in their personal narratives.
This public evolution in both their lives follows a significant period of transition for Rachel, including stepping down as CEO of the Kolisi Foundation an organisation she co-founded with Siya in early 2025. At the time, supporters praised her “unwavering support” to community programmes, highlighting her advocacy beyond her role with the foundation.
While Rachel’s post did not address the details of her marriage or Siya’s new relationship directly, her affirmation of choosing peace echoes earlier sentiments in which she described her healing process as ongoing, telling followers she was “fully committed to my healing journey.”
