Cape Town – A mother and her teenage daughter were taken to hospital after being attacked by pit bulls in Manor Gardens on Tuesday morning.
According to ALS Paramedics, emergency services responded to an incident on Rand Road shortly after 9am, where the pair had been bitten while walking their dogs.
“Paramedics arrived on scene with Homeland Security personnel to find that a mother and her teenage daughter had been bitten by two pit bulls,” said ALS Paramedics in a statement.
Both victims sustained bite wounds to their lower limbs and required advanced medical treatment at the scene before being transported to hospital.

“Advanced Life Support paramedics worked to stabilise both patients before transporting them to a nearby hospital for the further care that they required,” ALS Paramedics said.
The dogs involved in the attack were no longer at the scene when emergency services arrived.
“The dogs were not present while medics worked,” ALS Paramedics confirmed.
The circumstances leading up to the attack remain unclear. South African Police Service (SAPS) officers are expected to investigate the incident.
“At this stage, the events leading up to the incident are unknown, however SAPS will be investigating further,” ALS Paramedics said.
