Cape Town – South African motorists are likely to see fuel price relief in January after sharp increases in December, with the Central Energy Fund projecting notable decreases across most fuels.
Diesel prices are expected to drop by up to R1.02/l, petrol by around 15–17c/l, and illuminating paraffin by 69c/l.
The anticipated cuts are driven by lower international oil prices, a stronger rand and a multi-year low in the rand oil price.
Final fuel prices will be confirmed ahead of their implementation on January 7.
