Cape Town – Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos has decided that striker Lyle Foster, midfielder Sphephelo Sithole, and winger Shandre Campbell will skip South Africa’s training camp.
They will fly directly to Morocco for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations finals due to their late releases from European clubs.
The trio — Sithole playing on Monday, Campbell on Sunday, and Foster on Saturday — won’t join the friendly against Ghana at Dobsonville Stadium on Tuesday, as Broos sees no value in their brief involvement before travel.
“WE are letting them come directly to Marrakech. We didn’t see any reason why they should arrive today, play a match tomorrow and after that travel to Morocco,” The Citizen quoted Broos as saying.

Defender Siyabonga Ngezana arrived on Sunday, completing recent additions to camp at TUKS High Performance Centre.
Broos calls the Ghana match a “training game” to test non-regulars like Thabang Matuludi, adapting them to Bafana’s style ahead of the Angola opener on December 22, but insists the team will compete seriously for victory.
The rest of the squad departs for Marrakech on Wednesday.
