Durban – The MK party is set to appoint former president Jacob Zuma’s younger daughter, Brumelda Zuma, to Parliament, replacing her half-sister Duduzile Zuma-Sambudla, who resigned last week.
A leaked internal letter dated 2 December 2025 shows MK secretary-general Bongani Mncwango instructing party leadership to fill vacant National Assembly seats to strengthen the party’s influence.
According to reports, Brumelda, known publicly after her 2019 graduation celebration at the University of Zululand, is among those expected to be sworn in.
The MK party has not yet commented officially.

Duduzile Zuma-Sambudla stepped down amid allegations that she was involved in recruiting young South African men who later ended up in Russia’s military campaign in Ukraine.
Her sister Nkosazana Zuma-Mncube opened a case against her, while Zuma-Sambudla has filed a counter-complaint claiming she was misled about the nature of the training.
The Hawks are investigating, and the DA has also laid charges, including human trafficking and violations of foreign military assistance laws.
Brumelda Zuma, daughter of former president Jacob Zuma, is among four MK Party members set to be sworn in as new MPs.
Parliament says new members will be sworn in at earliest practical opportunity.
