Johannesburg – Johannesburg metro police have warned of major traffic disruptions on Monday as the last G20 delegations leave the country.
Roads leading to OR Tambo International Airport, Lanseria Airport, and Air Force Base Waterkloof will face delays, along with some rail closures and intermittent 30-minute traffic standstills.
Affected routes include the R21, R24, N3, M1, N1, and N14.

Today is the final day of the summit, meaning high-volume VIP movements are expected as delegates depart.

Authorities urge motorists to allow extra travel time, use alternative routes, and follow real-time traffic updates while they work to clear the network once all delegations have departed.
“Motorists should expect sudden full traffic halts lasting close to 30 minutes and routes that can be affected are the R21, the R24, the N3, M1 and N1 and N14. We urge commuters to plan for significant extra travel time, use alternative routes where possible and continuously monitor real time traffic updates.
