Cape Town – South African fuel prices are expected to rise in early December, with diesel motorists likely to face the biggest increases. According to the Central Energy Fund (CEF), projected hikes are:

Petrol 93: +16 cents per litre

Petrol 95: +21 cents per litre

Diesel 0.05%: +69 cents per litre

Diesel 0.005%: +84 cents per litre

Illuminating paraffin: +74 cents per litre
Price changes are influenced by international oil prices and the rand/dollar exchange rate, with Brent crude at $64.45/barrel and the exchange rate at R17.06/$. Final prices will be confirmed later in the month, taking effect at midnight on Tuesday, 2 December.
Current November 2025 prices (inland) are: Petrol 93 – R20.97, Petrol 95 – R21.12, Diesel 0.05% – R19.13, Diesel 0.005% – R19.20, Paraffin – R12.98. Coastal prices are slightly lower.
Fuel users are advised to prepare for a potentially significant hike ahead of the festive season.
