Cape Town – US President Donald Trump has once again criticised South Africa, this time vowing that no American officials will attend the upcoming G20 Summit in Johannesburg.
Posting on his Truth Social account, Trump claimed Afrikaners were being “killed and slaughtered” and that their farms were being “illegally confiscated.”
He called it a “total disgrace” that the G20 would be held in South Africa, adding that he planned to host the 2026 summit in Miami.
“It is a total disgrace that the G20 will be held in South Africa. Afrikaners (people who are descended from Dutch settlers, and also French and German immigrants) are being killed and slaughtered, and their land and farms are being illegally confiscated.
“No US government official will attend as long as these human rights abuses continue. I look forward to hosting the 2026 G20 in Miami, Florida,” Trump said.

The post casts doubt on whether US Vice President JD Vance will attend the event, as initially planned.
South Africa’s Department of International Relations and Cooperation (Dirco) last week dismissed Trump’s claims as false and “based on distorted information.”
Spokesperson Crispin Phiri reiterated that the idea of a “white genocide” in South Africa has been discredited, and affirmed that the government remains committed to maintaining diplomatic ties with the US.
Dirco and the Presidency have both clarified that farm attacks are part of South Africa’s broader crime problem, not racially motivated assaults on white citizens.
