Johannesburg – Police have taken a statement from controversial North West businessman and political fixer Brown Mogotsi after he claimed his car was riddled with bullets in Vosloorus, east of Johannesburg.
Mogotsi had reportedly failed to report to the Vosloorus police station earlier this week, despite appeals.
SAPS reportedly questioned him not only about the alleged attempted murder but also on allegations of fraud, corruption, and defeating the ends of justice.

Investigators found Mogotsi’s Chevrolet sedan hit by around 11 bullets on Monday night, but no injuries or blood were reported at the scene.
Police are conducting ballistic analyses and collecting Mogotsi’s account of events.
Authorities have warned that if the shooting is proven staged, Mogotsi could face additional charges for misleading law enforcement.
Regarding questions about whether the assassination attempt was staged, a couple outside their Vosloorus home told The Sowetan that they saw a red Chevrolet speeding before abruptly leaving the road and screeching to a stop in an open area.
