A multidisciplinary team made up of the Provincial Tracking Team, Provincial Investigation Unit, district detectives, and local task teams, supported by private security partners, moved in on the location. One suspect escaped after firing at the police, while six men from Mamelodi and a female homeowner aged 34 were taken into custody.
Investigations confirmed that the Audi S3 recovered at the scene was used during the robbery. Several stolen goods, along with four firearms and ammunition, were also seized. The suspects, aged between 28 and 52, face charges of business robbery, possession of illegal firearms and ammunition, and possession of stolen property.
They are expected to appear in the Mankweng Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday. Police have indicated that further investigations are underway to determine whether the suspects are linked to other robberies reported in Limpopo, Gauteng, and Mpumalanga. The coordinated operation was described as a demonstration of law enforcement’s determination to combat organised criminal activity across the province.
