Cape Town – FlySafair cabin crew, represented by the South African Cabin Crew Association, have gone on strike demanding higher wages and changes to their roster.
Despite the strike, the airline says it does not expect flight disruptions, as over two-thirds of its cabin crew — including non-union members and those who accepted a 5.7% wage increase — will continue working.

According to SABC News, Chief Marketing Officer Kirby Gordon confirmed that no settlement was reached but assured that all flights remain covered.
“Unfortunately, the parties did not finalise the settlements today [Monday], despite constructive engagement, as the employer initiates work stoppage that will commence from midnight. Flysafair’s full roster is, however, protected with all schedules with flights covered by non-unionist and unionist that have excepted the company’s offer,” the report quoted Gordon as saying.
