Cape Town – Police Minister Senzo Mchunu concluded a four-day testimony before Parliament’s ad hoc committee on Wednesday, defending his decision to disband the political killings task team and denying links to crime syndicates.
Questioned about alleged associations with individuals implicated in serious crimes, including murder-accused Vusimuzi “Cat” Matlala, Mchunu insisted he acted appropriately.
He welcomed the chance to present his side of the story.
“I would say the platform has been there and provided and I had an opportunity to say what I wanted to say,” Mchunu said.
His testimony will be followed by former Police Minister Bheki Cele, Acting Police Minister Firoz Cachalia, and deputy ministers Cassel Mathale and Polly Boshielo.
