Cape Town – The wife of rugby veteran and Springbok player Deon Fourie, Jean-Marie, has shared an uplifting message to her husband following his devastating, reportedly career-ending injury.
At 39, Fourie has been reaching the pinnacle of his rugby career, defying age in one of the most physically demanding sports. However, his recent setback has added another challenge to his remarkable journey.
The Stormers star sustained a bicep injury during a recent match against the Scarlets, shortly after making his return from a previous injury.

In a heartfelt and supportive message to her husband, Jean-Marie assured him of her unwavering support throughout their journey.
“Sometimes the road is uncertain, the turns long, and the mountains high. But I will always be here, and we will never be lost.
“Whatever we deny or embrace, for worse or for better, we belong, we belong, we belong together,” she said.
The Stormers head coach, John Dobson, also expressed how devastated the team was to find out about the veteran’s serious injury.
“Deon’s devasted. A lot of tears in the changing room, Deon was in tears.
“It’s a serious bicep injury that will require surgery, so he’ll go home. It’s an emotional changing room – as much as the win is pleasing, it shows how tight this team is that they’re so upset about Deon,” said Dobson.
