Cape Town – Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader Julius Malema has dismissed allegations linking him to suspended Deputy National Police Commissioner Shadrack Sibiya, following testimony at the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry into criminality and corruption within the justice system.
The claims were made by a witness identified only as “Witness A”, who told the commission that while investigating businessman Katiso Molefe, he was informed by a senior police officer that Molefe had associates allegedly connected to both Malema and Sibiya.

The witness claimed the officer had said, “The Z is a close friend of Julius Malema, a politician who then tends to be close to General Sibiya.”
Malema swiftly took to social media to respond, writing on X , “Baloyi! You won’t find me in the wrong places.”
The EFF leader did not offer further clarification, but his post was widely interpreted as a rejection of the claims.

Meanwhile, EFF spokesperson Sinawo Thambo appeared to mock the testimony, posting, “Mang mang knows mang mang, who knows mang mang who is close to mang mang. End of submission.”
The Madlanga Commission, chaired by retired Constitutional Court Justice Mbuyiseli Madlanga, continues to hear evidence from law enforcement and intelligence officials.
The inquiry is investigating allegations of corruption, political interference, and the capture of state security structures.
