Cape Town – Six teenagers between the ages of 14 and 19 were involved in a mass shooting, which claimed the lives of two and left four wounded in Westbury, Johannesburg, on Tuesday afternoon.
Police spokesperson Brigadier Brenda Muridili said in a statement that officers from the Sophiatown police station responded to the scene after being informed of a shooting in the area.
“Preliminary reports suggest that the shooting was gang related.
“It is reported that the six, aged between 14 and 19 years, were shot at by three suspects believed to be from a rival gang,” he said.
The victims were rushed to the hospital

“Two of them were declared dead on arrival, and four are receiving medical attention,” said Muridili.
The Gauteng anti-gang unit and crime intelligence have been tasked with the job of locating the shooters responsible for this incident.
