Cape Town – Police raided the business property of North West businessman and alleged ANC member Oupa “Brown” Mogotsi in Seweding village, Mahikeng, on Thursday as part of an ongoing investigation linked to the Madlanga commission and an ad hoc parliamentary committee probing political interference and corruption in the police.
Mogotsi’s name has surfaced multiple times in these inquiries, with KwaZulu-Natal police commissioner Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi alleging that Mogotsi had insider knowledge of police operations and ties to suspended Police Minister Senzo Mchunu.

During the raid, Mogotsi confirmed he had been summoned to appear before the Madlanga commission and vowed to reveal more information, hinting at major revelations.
Meanwhile, Mchunu admitted knowing Mogotsi as a “comrade” but denied being his associate.
Suspended Deputy Police Commissioner Shadrack Sibiya also told the committee he only knew Mogotsi as a political activist who once called him about alleged tender corruption and a Crime Intelligence probe.
