Cape Town – Springbok captain Siya Kolisi has once again shown his compassion, sharing a heartfelt message of encouragement with a young fan who reached out to him after being bullied at school over his grades.
Renowned for his charitable work across South Africa, Kolisi demonstrated his trademark generosity by personally motivating the young boy and helping to restore his confidence.
Darren “McGuyver”, the learner Kolisi connected with, had seen his grades drop significantly due to severe bullying from other students.
During a phone call, Kolisi encouraged him directly, called out the bullies, and reminded everyone of the importance of standing up for one another.
“McGuyver, I just want to say hello.

“You must tell those boys or those kids at school who are bullying you — I’m coming for them! I’m going to come say hello and deal with them.
“But stay strong. Be yourself and don’t be scared of anything,” said Kolisi.
Months later, the impact of Kolisi’s words became clear.
“Three months later, his mom pulled me aside to say he’d doubled his marks and hardly missed a day this term,” shared Nikita van Rensburg, who helped connect the two.
She added, “‘He’s Siya Kolisi’s star child.’ 🥹💚 A small message that makes a big impact!” said Nikita Van Rensberg.
