Cape Town – ActionSA has yet to confirm whether leader Herman Mashaba will run against DA candidate Helen Zille for Johannesburg mayor, though observers expect a heated contest if he does.
According to The Citizen, Mashaba said he would only step in if the party cannot find a stronger candidate than Xolani Khumalo or Nasiphi Moya, ActionSA’s candidate for Tshwane.
Khumalo, announced as the party’s mayoral candidate for Ekurhuleni, emphasises restoring law and order, tackling corruption, and improving service delivery.

“Although I am not coming in as a politician, but a patriot who shares with millions of citizens loss of hope in career politicians. Believing that we are on this unfavourable trajectory as a country and certainly Ekurhuleni, because of politicians. I have put together a plan of action to fix Ekurhuleni,” the report quoted Khumalo as saying.
“It includes restoring law and order, ending drug abuse, combating corruption, ensuring service delivery, delivering growth and jobs, ensuring spatial dignity, establishing responsive government, providing basic health care and efficient public transport.”
Known for hosting the drug-busting show on Moja Love, Khumalo has been praised by ActionSA as a fearless and ethical leader, Times Live reported.
