Cape Town – Build One SA (BOSA), the GOOD Party, and Rise Mzansi have joined forces to form a new political party called Unite for Change, which will contest the 2026 local government elections under one shared banner.
Announced in Johannesburg on Sunday, the alliance aims to offer South Africans an alternative rooted in ethical leadership, better service delivery, job creation, and inclusive governance.
Although the three parties will continue to exist independently for now, they plan a full merger after 2029.

BOSA leader Mmusi Maimane called on citizens — especially the youth — to join the movement, saying politics should not be left to politicians alone.
“It is that unity of purpose that brings about change. It’s been a great privilege to work with both Patricia, Songezo and many other leaders to say this journey must culminate together, we must together, and there are many others that we are currently engaged with.”
Three leaders are coming together today to form a new political vehicle.

Patricia de Lille of the GOOD Party described the initiative as “more than a political party,” urging South Africans not to lose hope.
“It’s a new inclusion direction, consolidating our parties and resources, but it is but the first step. The real hard work is to persuade South Africans to join the quest for something better.

“Don’t give up hope, South Africans. We should never give up hope, come and join in your quest for a better South Africa. Now is the time, especially for the young people, to design your own future,” De Lille said.
Rise Mzansi’s Songezo Zibi said the country needs a “complete reset” of its political leadership, prioritising integrity and competence over ego and power.
Further details about leadership structures, policy priorities, and campaign strategies will be revealed in the coming weeks.
