Pretoria – A senior NPA official will testify before the Madlanga Commission on Friday about a 2024 letter from Police Minister Senzo Mchunu instructing the disbanding of KwaZulu-Natal’s political killings task team.
This directive, allegedly not communicated to the provincial NPA, also ordered National Police Commissioner Fannie Masemola to halt all Crime Intelligence appointments.
The NPA had been working with the task team to ensure prosecution-led investigations and quicker convictions.
